Madhya Pradesh Violence: Rahul Gandhi detained near Neemuch border, released

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi who was on his way to Mandsaur, to meet the families of the five farmers who reportedly died during g the police firing on Tuesday, was allegedly detained at the Neemuch border.

It was reported that Rahul Gandhi along with other Congress leaders Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath and JDU leader Sharad Yadav were kept inside the Vikram Tent House, which was turned into a jail.

While interacting with media, Rahul Gandhi said, Country’s Prime Minster Narendra Modi can waive off Rs 1.50 lakh crore worth loans of the richest people of India, but can’t pay heed to the plight of farmers. He can only give bullets to them”.

But soon after the arrest, he was allegedly released on bail.

Rahul Gandhi moved to Twitter and posted, “Spoke to families of deceased farmers on phone&conveyed my condolences.I’m here to meet them&will not be deterred from voicing their concerns”.
