Maharashtra: 7 coaches of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derail

In yet another incident, seven coaches of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express reportedly derails near Titwala station in  Kalyan, Maharashtra on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place between the tracks Asangaon and Wasind at around 6.40am on Tuesday morning.

The accident took place due to the landslide caused by heavy rains in the region.

A statement released by Central Railway reads, “There are no injuries to passengers. We are arranging buses to bring passengers to the destination. Doctors and senior officers are already at the site”.

It was reported that this is the third rail accident which took within last two weeks.

Central Railway PRO  told the media, “Seven coaches of Duronto Express Nagpur-Mumbai 12290 derailed between Asangaon and Vasind railway stations. So far, no casualties have been reported”.

The incident has affected the suburban services in the Mumbai-Thane sectors which took place in the peak hours on Tuesday morning.

Although, the rescue operations is been under way.

However, no causalities have been reported so far.
