Maharashtra resident doctors call off strike

After a Four days strike of Maharashtra resident doctors ended on Thursday late night after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave assurance of providing improved security conditions.

On Friday, Maharashtra chief minister urged doctors to call off the strike as state was witnessing massive health crises.

Following the assurance the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) decided to call off and resume their work from Friday onwards.

The protest had been widen across the country and supported by various medical bodies like Indian Medical Association (IMA), AIIMS and others.

Over 4,500 resident doctors of government hospitals have been on strike across Maharashtra since Monday for claiming improved security conditions in the hospital after observing the series of terrible attacks on their colleagues.

However, Doctors in Nagpur and Aurangabad decided not to resume their work yet.
