Maruti Factory case: 31 convicted, 117 acquitted by Haryana court

On Friday, 31 people were convicted and 117 were released by Haryana court in Maruti Suzuki Manesar factory violence case.

The court has come up with this verdict after five years. Accused have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, arson and rioting.

On July 18 2012, the incident of violence took place at the Maurti Suzuki factory in Manesar. It started with an argument between workers and management which reached to extreme level and workers allegedly set fire on one of the floors of factory in which HR General Manager Awanish Kumar Dev was killed and numbers of employees were injured.

With this unpleasant incident, Maruti faced huge loss and suffered from heavy damage. Following the issue workers were allegedly charged with conspiracy to murder and rioting.

Later most of the workers were released over the years and 11 were still behind the bars.
