Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari have reportedly accepted the BSP chief Mayawati’s resignation from the Rajya Sabha.
It was reported that the Mayawati’s Resignation was accepted by the house chairman on Thursday.
BSP chief Mayawati said in her statement, “Since the time the BJP has come to power, there has been exploitation of the Dalits, the poor, minorities, and backward castes”.
Adding further to this she said,“I simply wanted the Rajya Sabha Chair to pay attention to atrocities against the less fortunate sections of the society, especially Dalits. And as a representative, when I’m not being allowed to speak for them, I have no choice but to resign”.
Although, BSP chief Mayawati’s term was scheduled to end on April 2018.
