Veteran Congress leader AK Walia resigned from the party ahead of the MCD elections on Monday.

It is reported, Mr walia was disappointed over ticket distribution in the upcoming civic polls, which is scheduled to be held in Delhi on April 23.

He alleged that some of the party tickets were given to the non party members of his constituency.

Mr walia was working with congress from past 15 years and has been a member of Delhi Assembly for four terms, representing east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar.

He served as Health Minister when congress was in power in the national capital.

Resignation of such prominent leader of Delhi unit is proved to be a major jolt for the congress party.
