The Meghalaya Election Department has entered into Limca Book of Records for formulating the biggest logo comprising 2,870 young and future voters on Tuesday.
It was reported that the human logo formation was part of the Mission Unite which was a special drive to enroll all young voters, to take part in the election, age comprising of 18 to 21 which held this year in July.
It was a mission which was launched by the state election department as ‘Mission Unite Campaign’ to target the first time voters.
This special drive took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex in July this year.
Chief electoral officer, Frederick Kharkongor said that the logo size was 120ft X 75ft in which 2,870 students who belonged to 113 schools and three colleges participated in the drive.
Frederick Roy Kharkongor, Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer said in a statement, “It is a result of the combined effort of the election officials and the network of schools and nodal teachers — especially the young and future voters. With this recognition, we hope the young will actually play a more proactive role in the overall electoral process”.
The Limca Book of Records official Garima Manon has congratulated the Frederick Kharkongor for enrolling young and future voters.
