The Congress-led Meghalaya United Alliance (MUA) government has recently announced a revised pay scales for over 11 lakh employees.
The revised pay scale of government employees includes school and college teachers.
Chief minister Mukul Sangma said in a statement, “The number used as a multiplier factor for the pay revision is 2.68 and this is being applied uniformly to all existing pay scales of all levels of state government employees”.
The announcement also includes 23,000 pensioners.
It was reported that the lowest pay of staff will now draw as Rs 17,400 per month, whereas on the other hand, the highest pay scale will be Rs 83,900 per month.
Adding further to this he said, “The number used as a multiplier factor for the pay revision is 2.68 and this is being applied uniformly to all existing pay scales of all levels of state government employees”.
Chief minister Mukul Sangma said that the revised salary of the staffers will come to effect from January 1, 2017.
He said, “The basic pay in the last pay revision for the lowest grade employees was Rs 6,500 per month which has now been hiked to Rs 17,400 per month and for the highest grade employees, the last pay revision was Rs 31,300 per month and now it has been increased to Rs 83,900 per month”.
