Modi Government says, No more red beacons on VIP vehicles

The extreme step taken up the Modi government is likely to affect the country to bring an end to the VIP culture which use to followed from last many decades.

The Modi-led Government decided to put a full stop to the VIP culture at a meeting with the cabinet ministers which took place on Wednesday.

In a statement, Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs Minister, Arun Jaitley said that the cabinet has decided to remove the clause from the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

Adding further to this he said “From May 1, no red beacon will be allowed on the top ofany official vehicle. There will be no exceptions”.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while appreciating theinitiative taken up by the government tweeted, “Every Indian is special. Every

Indian is a VIP”. Following this, under the new amendment took by the government; vehicles which can use blue lights include emergency vehicles like fire engines, ambulances, and the police van.
