Mumbai: Four coaches of local derails

In yet another incident, four coaches of a Harbour Line suburban local train reportedly derailed near Mahim on Friday.

The incident took place around 9:55 am in the moring when the local train was Andheri-Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus and heading towards to Andheri station.

It was reported that the derailment of the Harbour Line suburban local train has affected the movement of  Wadala-Andheri section, Officials said.

Railway official said in a statement, “Five passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident and were given first-aid”.

The local train was on its way to Andheri station when a problem was detected in the overhead equipment in the local train near Mahim station.

Meanwhile, Western Railway wrote on its Twitter account, “Restoration of 4 coaches of CSMT-Andheri Dn Harbor local expected in 3 hrs.5 psngrs with minor injuries gvn 1st aid”.

Following the train derailment, Union Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu has reportedly offered to resign from his post as in recent times many incidents of train derailment has become the matter of concern.
