In a horrific incident, a senior journalist was killed in a collision between two auto rickshaws in Kurla, Mumbai on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Prashant Tripathi by the officials.
The incident took place when Prashant was returning t his house in Kalwa which is near Thane on Thursday night.
The mishap occurred near Kurla’s Baba Hospital.
He hails from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh.
It was reported that the incident took place on Wednesday night.
Senior Police Inspector, Lalasaheb Shetye, Kurla Police station, said in a statement, “His wife is presently in Allahabad. His body will be handed over on Friday for the final rites. The accused Shaikh has been arrested”.
Prashant was immediately rushed to the Bhabha hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
His body was sent to the Lokmanya Tilak hospital for post-mortem.
Prashant Tripathi has worked as a journalist for over 17 years.
Sources said that Prashant Tripathi has worked with IBN 7 and P7 news channels. After the shut of the news channel, Tripathi was associated with ETV Uttar Pradesh.
