Mumbai: Teacher arrested for beating 16-year-old boy

In a spine-chilling incident, a 16-year-old boy was allegedly beaten up by a ruler by his school teacher in suburban Ghatkopar area in Mumbai on Thursday morning.

The incident took place at around 9:30 am, when the teacher allegedly started beating the student by using a ruler and also slapped him multiple times on Thursday morning at a private school in Mumbai.

It was learned that the teacher has brutally beaten up the class IX student for not having an Aadhaar identification card.

The victim was identified as Sohel Ansari by the officials.

It was reported that the horrific incident was reported from Oxford English High School in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area.

Following the incident, the student was admitted to the nearby Sion hospital in Mumbai.

A case was registered in the Ghatkopar Police Station against the school teacher.

The police officials told the media the teacher was booked under the sections of section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC.

The accused teacher has denied the reports of beating the student in front of the victim’s parents.

Although, the teacher has been arrested by the police officials.

However, further investigation is underway.
