Mumbai: Three workers killed after crane collapses in Powai

As per the recent reports, three workers were reportedly killed and two others were severely injured after a part of a crane fell on them in Powai on Monday evening.

The incident was reported from BMC sewage line outside IIT Powai.

Following the incident, One fire engine, a rescue van, and an ambulance were deployed to the spot.

Three persons were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital where they were brought dead.

It was reported that another worker, who was identified as Pareshnath Singh (47) has allegedly sustained a fracture in both his legs.

Dr. Vidya Thakur, Medical Superintendent of Rajawadi Hospital said, “Both injured persons are stable. We are conducting a few tests to confirm there is no serious injury”.

It was learned that five workers were working in a pit when a portion of the crane fell on them around 5.40 pm on Monday.

DCP Navin Reddy said in a statement, “We are still investigating the details of the case. An ADR has been registered for now. We’ll register an FIR once further details of the case come in”.

However, police officials are still investigating the matter.
