Nagpur: Man beaten up by locals for carrying beef

A 40-year-old man was accused of carrying beef after which he was beaten up by the locals on Wednesday.

The incident took place near the Bharsingi area in Nagpur.

It was reported that on the suspicion of carrying beef the man was allegedly beaten up by four men in Nagpur’s Bharsingi area.

DCP Shailesh Balkawde said in a statement, “We had received the complaint yesterday. We have arrested four people. We are still investigating the issue”.

Although, the meat was sent for the test to the forensic lab.

However, this is not the first time when in the name of Gau Bhakti, lynching is being prevailed in the country. Earlier, 15-year-old Junaid Khan was stabbed to death on the Mathura-bound train near Ballabhgarh area in Haryana.
