Nirbhaya Gang Rape: Convicts to hang after Supreme Court orders death sentence

In a recent development, it has discovered after four years of Nirbhaya gang rape, Supreme Court orders the death sentence for all the four convicts accused in the case.

It was learnt that the judgment was pronounced by the bench of judges includes- R Banumathi, Ashok Bhushan,  Dipak Misra.

Supreme Court said in its order, “The Nirbhaya rape-cum-murder case is rarest of rare case and we are compelled to give extreme punishment to ensure justice”.

While giving the statement to media Victim’s mother said, “We have full faith in the judicial system and I am sure that the Supreme Court will announce death sentence in its verdict for the guilty. I am sure the Supreme Court will give justice to my daughter. This will set an example for the world”.

On the other hand Victim’s mother added, “Leave Supreme Court, even God will not forgive such people”.

Four years ago, on December 16, 2012, a 23-year-old girl from Delhi was not only raped but also brutalised in a moving bus in South Delhi’s Munirka area.

Following this, the victim and her male friend were thrown out of the bus, after a few days Nirbhaya lost the battle of her life in Singapore hospital December 29.

After the judgment was given by the apex court victim father said the judgment is a victory for the family.

Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, while speaking her mind on the matter she tweeted, “I welcome the verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the #Nirbhaya Case”.
