No Milk And Dairy Products In Shimla

As per the recent reports, Supply of milk and dairy products in the Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla was affected following the curfew and a riots-like situation in the neighboring Punjab and Haryana after the special CBI court convicted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh guilty in a rape case on Friday.

It was learned that there was no supply of milk and milk products in the Himachal Pradesh hill station comprising areas like Solan, Baddi, Parwanoo, Kasauli, and Chail.

A milk supplier told the media, “No packaged milk and dairy products coming from Punjab was supplied to any shop, hotel or commercial establishment”.

Although, the hill station’s daily 50,000 liters where most of the milk and dairy products are supplied to the Punjab’s milk fed.

It was reported that the shortage of milk and dairy products arise due to the violence broke out after the special Central Bureau of Investigation court convicted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case which was filed in the year 2002 by the Dera sadhvi.

Following the riots-like situation in the area,  Smriti Irani Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles and Information & Broadcasting Minister moved to twitter and urged media to exercise restraint while reporting on the ongoing violence in the states of Haryana, Punjab and some parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, a statement released by Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) reads, “All editors should take utmost care while playing violence visuals of the coverage of Baba Ram Rahim case. Please verify the facts before putting them on air because lots of rumors are floating around”.
