In a horrific incident, a 42-year-old and her 11-year-old daughter were reportedly dead at their flat in Greater Noida on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Anjali Agarwal, 42-year-old mother and daughter Manikarnika by the police officials.
Following the incident, police have suspected 15-year-old son of the woman, who is missing after the murder.
A senior police officer said in a statement, “We are looking at CCTV footage and electronic surveillance. The son is seen leaving the flat around 11.15 pm on Monday night, carrying a backpack. No other person is seen entering or leaving the flat”.
It was reported that the bodies were found in a blanket by the police when they entered the apartment after breaking the door.
Both woman and the girl was beaten up with a bat and was allegedly stabbed with a screwdriver, a police official said.
SSP Love Kumar, Gautam Buddha Nagar said in a statement, “The bodies were found in the bedroom on Tuesday night, but the murders appear to have been committed between 8.30 pm and 11.15 pm on Monday. Their heads and faces were smashed. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. An FIR against unidentified persons under IPC Section 302 (murder) has been registered. We have received some important leads in the case and action is likely to be taken soon”.
However, police officials are investigating the matter.
