Soon after the Supreme Court verdict on disproportionate assets case, AIADMK expelled Panneerselvam from primary membership of the party.
This decision comes after the intervention between Sasikala and AIADMK top leaders at Golden Bay resort.
In a meeting, Edappadi K Palaniswami was elected as AIADMK legislative party leader.
The ruling party also expelled all the AIADMK members who were loyal to O Panneerselvam including Minister K Pandiarajan, PH Pandian, N Vishvananthan and senior leader C Ponnaiyan.
Following this, Tamil Nadu’s interim Chief Minister O Panneerselvam urged the leaders of the ruling AIADMK to resolve differences, work mutually and keep the party united as it will be the greatest tribute to Amma’s soul.
Supporters of O Panneerselvam went to the Golden Bay resort where Sasikala and top leaders of AIADMK were present. But they were stopped by the state police on their way to resort.
It is also reported that Section 144 has been imposed in Kuvatthur area in Kanchipuram district to avoid the problem in the area.
