Petrol bomb thrown at BJP President’s house

Miscreants threw a petrol bomb at BJP President CR Nandkumar’s home at wee hours in Coimbatore on Wednesday.

As per sources, two unidentified persons came in a motorcycle at his house and threw petrol bomb on Innova car at around 2.45 AM today. Following the incident, her mother woke up and informed him.

He put off the fire with the help of his neighbors and called local police.

Luckily no one got injured in the incident. However, Two of Nandkumar’s cars parked outside were partly damaged.

Police Commissioner K Periaiah and Deputy Commissioner S Lakshmi visited the scene and carried out the investigation. They have also carried the installed CCTV footage that captured the incident.

Periaiah said that five special teams are formed to investigate the attack, he stated,” We have got CCTV visuals of the persons involved in the attack. The specials team has been instructed to act quickly and trace the assailants.”

The police say that the miscreants initially poured fuel on the car and later threw a projectile.

Nandkumar said,” We suspect the role behind the incident is by the members of an outfit supporting Periyar for taking a revenge for vandalizing the Periyar statue in Pudukottai.

This is a second such situation within a month.

Earlier, On March 7 petrol bomb was thrown at the BJP office. It came a day after party leader H Raja asked for the removal of late Dravidian leader Periyar statues from public places in Tamil Nadu.

The cops had arrested three supporters of Dravid Periyar Kadgam Party for the attack on BJP office.
