Petrol, Diesel prices hiked

Today, Oil Companies hiked the fuel prices. Petrol Price increased by Rs 2.31 per litre and Diesel Price by Rs 1.79 per litre excluding local taxes.

The revised prices will be effective from December 12 midnight. Currently petrol price in Delhi is Rs 66.10 but after increase it will cost 68.94 per litre. Similarly, diesel price in Delhi is Rs 54.57 after increase it will cost Rs 56.68 per litre.

IOC, Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Bharat Petroleum Corp, usually modify fuel prices on 1st and 16th of every month based on average price at global level in the previous fortnight.

Indian Oil Corporation said in a statement “The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision”

Last fuel price was modified on December 1 in which petrol price was increased by a 13 paise per litre, but diesel price was decrease by 12 paise per litre.
