Police Seized Liquor worth Rs. 56 Lakh from Dry State, Gujarat

A special cell of Gujarat Police seized a truck on NH48 near Surat carrying Liquor worth Rs. 56 Lakh on Tuesday night.

Gujarat Police State Monitoring Cell grabbed a truck from NH48 near Surat which was carrying liquor towards Gujarat in the name of Army goods which was coming from Haryana.

According to the Police, the truck was carrying IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) boxes and during the investigation of the Truck driver they get to know that the goods was for the Indian Army and Air Force after which the police checked the boxes and they found the boxes sealed properly which was to be delivered in Bhuj.

The driver showed the delivery Challans to the police, which was containing the stamps over it of Army and Air Force officials.

After a deep interrogation with the Truck driver, Police got to know that the delivery challan and the stamp over it were totally fake.

Police seized 11,412 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 56 lakh, one mobile phone worth Rs 500, cash Rs 34,000.

The Fir had been registered and the truck driver Govindsingh Majbisingh has been arrested from the spot while the cleaner Jitendra Alias Pagga successfully hides from the police.

It was around 11:30 pm on Tuesday when Palsana police grabbed the truck carrying Liquor from the parking lot of Hotel Shayog near Baleshwar Village.

While the two other accused are declared as wanted out of which one is Rajesh Malhotra, who sent the truck and the other is Rahul who handed over the truck to the arrested truck Driver.
