In a shocking incident, seven men allegedly looted Rs 1.18 crore from HDFC Bank’s cash van in Manak Rai village Jalandhar city in Punjab on Friday.
It was reported that unidentified men came on three motorcycles and allegedly stopped the HDFC Bank cash van near Manak Rai village.
It was reported that the incident took place about 25 km from Jalandhar.
It was believed that the vehicle was reportedly operated by the private agency.
Police officials said that two bank employees and two security guards have deployed inside the van.
It was learned that the van was carrying Rs 2.16 crore which was to be distributed to various ATMs in rural areas.
A police officer said in a statement, “We are investigating the matter from various angles”.
Following the incident, a crime investigating agency of the Bhogpur police has recorded the statement of the staff members present inside the van and is investigating into the matter.
However, police hunt is in progress to nab the robbers.
