Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar, will be visiting to India on December 3.
PM of Qatar is arriving at the invitation by PM Modi. During the Visit, he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of common interest.
Visit was announced by the External Ministry of India. This is the first visit of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah to India and in the past two years it will be the third high-level bilateral engagement between two countries, which underlines India’s growing ties with Qatar.
The visit of Qatari Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to India in March 2015 was followed by visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Qatar in June 2016, Ministry said.
India is having close and friendly relationship with Qatar and are based on mutually beneficial commercial exchanges and extensive people-to-people contacts.
Over 630,000 Indian nationals are working in Qatar. Qatar is one of the most important trading partner of India in the Gulf region and it is also the largest supplier of LNG to India, accounting for 66% of our total imports in 2015-16.
