In a bid to provide faster, clean and convenient connectivity to its passengers, Indian railways is reportedly introducing a new Special Rajdhani Express between Delhi and Mumbai.
The newly designed train will commence from Monday, officials said.
Patnaik said in his letter, “It is disappointing, instead of a new Rajdhani Express, ECoR has planned to divert an existing train and run the same via Sambalpur. Hence, such decision needs to be reviewed and a new Rajdhani Express may be given to Odisha, thereby restoring the frequency of the diverted train”.
It was reported that flexi fares would not be applicable to this service.
An official said, “The new service is planned to be commenced as a tri-weekly special service with only one rake and shall provide faster rail connectivity between Delhi and Mumbai”.
It was discovered that two Rajdhanis and more than 20 mail and express is already been running between two cities.
Officials said that the rain will have the stoppages at Vadodara, Kota, Surat stations only.
An official said in a statement, “It will save the time of the passengers. It will enable the passengers to avoid peak-hours of traffic. Passengers will not need to get freshen up in the train enabling them to have cozy mornings. Passengers can attend offices as per their routine.”
