Ram Nath Kovind sworn-in as India’s 14th President

Elected President Ram Nath Kovind has today taken the oath as India’s 14th President at a ceremony in the Central Hall of Parliament on Tuesday.

Former President who’s termed over today arrived at the Central Hall, where the oath ceremony was taking place.

The members who were present at the oath ceremony include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-president Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, senior civil and military officers, MPs, Chief Ministers.

The new President Ram Nath Kovind said, “We are diverse, yet united and one”.

It was reported that Kovind is the second Dalit President of India after K R Narayanan.

While closing the speech President Kovind said, “We need to sculpt a high-growth economy, an educated economy and an egalitarian society. This was the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and Deen Dayal Upadhyay”.
