In yet another incident of trail derailment, one power coach and engine of the Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express reportedly derailed in Delhi on Thursday afternoon.
It was reported that the incident took place Delhi’s Minto Bridge where the engine and power coach of the Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express derailed.
The Northern Railway spokesperson said in a statement,”Engine, power coach of Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani Exp derail near Minto Bridge in New Delhi; no fatalities”.
The incident took place around 11.45 am.
“We have received a call at around 11:24 am, where the Delhi bound Ranchi Rajdhani was changing its tracks for its scheduled at the New Delhi Railway station”.
It was discovered that only the engine and the generator were derailed.
Following his, senior railway officials reached the spot with the rescue team to clear the track as it connects Delhi from the eastern part of India.
No casualties have been reported so far.
However, an inquiry has been ordered to find the reason behind the derailment.
This is the second such incident which took place in a day.
Neeraj Sharma, the Northern Railways spokesperson said in a statement, “The engine and power car are affected. Since the speed of the (Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express) train was very low, there was no injury to any passenger”.
Although, no casualties by the railway authorities have been reported so far.
