On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off “Run for Unity” event at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium to mark the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.
On the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi organized an event and urged the citizens to participate ‘Run for Unity’- a nationwide marathon.
The event was organized in a Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
Prime Minister laid flowers at Sardar Patel’s statue and flagged off the nationwide marathon.
While addressing the public at Dhyan Chand National Stadium PM Modi said, “His momentous service and monumental contribution to India can never be forgotten”.
PM Modi slammed the Congress for ignoring the legacy made by the Iron Man of India and said, “There have been attempts to run down Patel, to ensure that the contribution of Patel is forgotten. But Sardar is Sardar, whether any government or any party recognizes his contribution or not but the nation and the youth will not forget him”.
He also said that Sardar Patel has contributed a lot to the building of our nation.
He added, “We salute Sardar Patel on his Jayanti. His momentous service and monumental contribution to India can never be forgotten”.
