In a bid to ease the movement of demonetize notes, the Reserve Bank of India has started printing Rs 200 currency notes with special advanced security features.
It was reported that the new currency notes of Rs 200 will come with an enhanced feature to prevent counterfeiting.
While giving a statement to media, Soumya Kanti Ghosh, group chief, SBI Group said, “A minor part of that has been replenished by 2000 rupee notes and a larger part by the new 500 rupee notes, though not in full”.
Adding further to this she said, “The introduction of 200 rupee notes will replenish the missing middle, triggered by the withdrawal of the old series of 500 rupee notes”.
However, the suggestion for the printing of Rs 200 notes was first given by the Reserve Bank of India. Following this, the government gave the green signal.
