The parents of the team India pacer Shardul Thakur met with an accident on Tuesday night after their bike skidded off the road in Palghar near Mumbai.
Both Narendra Thakur and Hounsa Thakur were rushed to a local hospital by the locals. His father was later shifted to Leelavati hospital for better care after the doctors detected a blood clot during a CT scan.
“The patient is diabetic with hyper tension and already had undergone two heart surgeries and suffered intra cranial bleeding and was vomiting, hence we advised him to be shifted to the Mumbai hospital while his wife has been discharged as she suffered minor injuries,” a medico quoted as saying.
As of now, they are out of danger.
Shardul’s parents were returning to Mahim (not Mumbai) village home after attending a wedding in Alyali in Palghar.
Road construction work was going on near Sundaram School which was left unnoticed by his father in the dark. There was no street light, the bike skidded and fell on a side depression leaving Narendra and Hounsa injured.
Shardul has rushed from Pune where he is currently based with Chennai Super Kings team in Indian Premier League – to visit his parents.
The star bowler was bought for a hefty Rs 2.60 crore in the IPL auctions held in January this year.
