Assam: Sukhoi-30 fighter jet carrying two pilots goes missing near Tezpur

In a recent development, it was reported that Sukhoi-30 fighter jet of Indian Air Force (IAF) has gone missing after losing its radar contact.

It was reported that the last contact made by the Sukhoi-30 fighter jet was around 11:30 am on Tuesday morning when the aircraft was 60 km near Tezpur in Assam.

In a statement, IAF official said, A Su-30 aircraft, airborne from Tezpur in Assam on a routine training mission lost radar and radio contact approximately 60 km north of Tejpur. The aircraft is overdue and actions have been initiated”.

Although, officials are hinted that it might have crashed after losing the contact.

It is not the first instance where Indian aircraft force has gone missing. Earlier also, approximately seven of the 240 Sukhoi-30MKI jets went missing, as per the reports.

However, the search operations for the missing aircraft have been initiated by the IAF.
