The Supreme Court on Monday removed Anurag Thakur from the post of BCCI President, who has faced the perjury charges. Following this, the court has also removed Ajay Shirke from the post of BCCI Secretary respectively.
The Supreme Court said, “BCCI case-prima facie we believe a case of PERJURY. We will launch a prosecution. Apologise if you want to escape, but even then we are not sure if we could accept the apology.”
The former Chief Justice of India said, “I don’t want to read whether the BCCI was overconfident or not, the apex court’s decision is the law of the land and everyone has to follow it”.
After the removal, Anurag Thakur told the media, “what has happened is in the past now and hopefully the new dispensation will do well”.
