DND flyway connecting way to southeast Delhi and Noida will remain toll-free for commuters, Supreme Court said today.
Not only this, Supreme Court also asked comptroller and auditor general to scrutinize the accounts of Toll Company how much money spent and invested in the construction of the flyway and submit a report.
Last month, Allahabad High Court had dismissed the toll imposed on commuters DND Flyway, this order had come in the limelight when a petition filed by Noida Resident’s Welfare Association in 2012. As people were complaining that the toll price was very expensive and illogical.
Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd’s had filed an appeal against the Allahabad High court order that prohibited it from collecting any more toll. As toll Company said the high court did not look into all aspects like construction cost, depreciation and maintenance expenses, which come to around Rs 12.5 Lakh per day, so that’s why they have decided those price. However, now it failed after the judgment made by Supreme Court.
