‘Swachh Swasth Sarvatra’ initiative will be launch today by the Union Health Ministry

Swachh Swasth Sarvatra is an initiative, which aimed to strengthen the community health centres in open defecation free blocks which will be launch today by the Union Health Ministry.

This initiative is started by the Union Health Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Human Resource Development.

A senior official from the Health Ministry said, “Similarly, the aim is to enable the Gram panchayats where Kayakalp awarded Primary Health centres (PHCs) are located to become ODF”.

Adding further to this he said, “As a part of the initiative, Rs 10 lakh of financial assistance will be given to the CHCs located in 708 ODF blocks so that they can be strengthened to meet the standards of sanitation, hygiene, and infection control”.

Over  Rupees 10 lakh, would be provided to these community health centres so that they can meet the standards of sanitation and hygiene.

Swachh Swasth Sarvatra initiative is a part of Swachh Bharat Mission , which is under National Health Mission. The mission behind this initiative is to make India open defecation free before 2nd October 2019.
