In a kind gesture, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj offered help to a Russian youth who was forced to beg for alms outside the Sri Kumarakottam Temple in Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu.
The Russian national has been identified as Evangelin.
It was reported that the 24-year-old Russian youth was touring in Tamil Nadu, had to forcefully beg outside the Sri Kumarakottam Temple in Tamil Nadu, after failed to withdraw money from his ATM card after his PIN got locked.
Police officials said that he went to ATM near the Kumarakottam temple to withdraw some cash where he found his ATM PIN was locked. Getting disappointed Evangelin decided to beg outside the Kumarakottam temple on the West Raja Street on Tuesday morning.
When the matter reached to the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, she assured the youth for the help.
Sushma moved to social media platform Twitter and wrote, Evangelin – Your country Russia is our time-tested friend. My officials in Chennai will provide you all help”.
However, this is not the first time when Sushma Swaraj has helped someone in need. Earlier also, Sushma Swaraj granted a visa to Pakistan national to visit India for an open heart surgery of her 1-year-old daughter.
