Sealing drive in Delhi at its peak as main markets of Delhi will remain closed for 48 hours from Friday.
Traders association in Delhi calls a bandh for Friday and Saturday against the sealing which is processing by the monitoring committee which was appointed by the Supreme Court.
From East Delhi to South Delhi markets, including Central Delhi would be affected by bandh.
A protest march would also be conducted by the traders during bandh
According to the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), traders called a bandh as a mark of protest against the municipalities and they never mean to disturb or trouble the people of Delhi.
“There is a lot of anger among the traders against the attitude of the municipal officials on sealing. Traders have decided that the authorities will not be affected by a day or two of closure, and it has to be long enough for some action to be initiated in our favor,” Mr. Goel, conveners of CTI said.
According to Mr. Goel, there are around 750 trade associations who are supporting the protest against municipalities over the sealing multiple shops.
On Friday, the protest march will start from the Town Hall in Old Delhi and From Sadar Bazar on Saturday.
According to the traders, after paying the commercial taxes they are being targeted unnecessarily by the municipalities.
The main Delhi market, which will be affected by the protests on Friday & Saturday are Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, Khan Market, Defence Colony, Rajouri Garden, Tilak Nagar, Greater Kailash, Sadar Bazar, Chawri Bazar, Sadar Bazar and Naya Bazar.
