As per the recent reports, the leading Indian hair stylist Jawed Habib salon was reportedly vandalized by the angry mob after the use of Hindu gods’ caricature in his one of the advertisements.
It was reported that the angry mob has allegedly attacked the Jawed Habib salon in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district.
The caption which was added in the advertisement reads, “Gods too visit Jawed Habib saloon”.
It was reported that the march was led by the Hindu Jagran Manch, who reportedly attacked the artist’s saloon Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh.
Habib said in a statement, “We never ever intended to hurt the sentiments of any community. It was done without our knowledge of the company by some local people in West Bengal. We undertake to remove all such advertisement material from the media”.
Police have registered a FIR against the artist’s saloon in the places like Varanasi and Hyderabad.
Following this, Hindu Jagran Manch workers reportedly vandalized the Habib salon on Saturday morning.
It was further added, “If our ad campaign had inadvertently hurt anyone’s sentiments we apologize for that to the public at large”.
Following the controversy, Habib went to social media platform Twitter to apologize for the advertisement.
He said in a video, “One of our partners released the advertisement in Kolkata. I have been working for 25 years. My only religion is scissors. Sentiments have been hurt. I apologize for this”.
