Alia Bhatt is all set to return to the big screen. She will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’ alongside Vicky Kaushal. The posters were already released and now the trailer is also out.
The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel calling Sehmat. A period thriller based on the 1971 Indi-Pak war.
The story is about an Indian Kashmiri woman married to a Pakistan Army Officer. The movie is going to be Alia’s finest performances of her career. Her father is a true-blue patriot and asks his daughter to be the ‘eyes and ears of India’ in neighboring Pakistan.
Alia Bhatt was last seen in more than a year ago in ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’.
She is playing the role of Sehmat who works for the Indian intelligence and spies on her husband. Kaushal who plays the role of a husband has no idea who he’s married to and fully unaware, remains faithful by his side. It follows an intense tale of lies, betrayal, and secrecy.
Alia remains the focal point of the trailer. She takes over rigorous martial arts, shooting, and fitness regimes to fully take over the role of a spy but also torn over the duties as a wife of a Pakistan and her Indian-ness.
The two actors worked very well on the dialect and accent for the role as noticed in the trailer. For director Meghna Gulzar, it will be adding a feather to her cap after Talvar.
Co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and backed by Junglee pictures, the movie will hit theatres on 11 May 2018.
