Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actress Saumya Tandon also known as Anita Bhabhi was on holiday with her husband Saurabh Devendra Singh in Turkey, where an instance of misfortune left the actress shaken.
Saumya Tandon who was on a vacation to Turkey was robbed by her taxi driver in Turkey. The actress got robbed of Rs. 60,000 according to Indian currency.
It was reported that the cab driver stopped the car in the middle of the way, and yelled at her for the change where Saumya realized that he had not started the meter. When Saumya gave him Euros, he replied that it was the wrong money she is giving.
Although Turkey accepts both Euros and lira as currency, this was the time when the cab driver tried to open her purse and stolen 800 Euros while distracted her yelling.
While giving the statement the actress said, “The taxi driver stole 800 euros (Rs. 57, 672) from my purse, it was very disturbing but it has made me wiser and more informed and cautious. Police couldn’t help me because I didn’t have the receipt of the travel so no license plate number. The lesson for all tourists travelling is always take the taxi receipt for safety”.
Adding further to this she said, “But there is a bright side to every thing, now I am travelling in trams, I made an Istanbul card, it’s so much more fun, safe and I get to know more about the city through its local transport. In fact in the tram yesterday I met an Indian origin group who are big fans of Bhabiji even though they barely spoke Hindi, and clicked pictures with me on the way”.
