Indian actor Kangana Ranaut will represent India at a global platform by delivering a speech at the ‘Gandhi Going Global’ summit to be held in New Jersey, United States.
Former first lady of the US, Michelle Obama and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey will also be present at the event which focuses on spreading Gandhian ideology and philosophy around the world. The two-day summit will commence on August 18.
The event will also witness educational programs, interactive activities, motivational talks and cultural celebration.
Kangana while working on her period drama Manikarnika said,” For me, it’s always been about the impact you make on society and how you contribute to it. Sharing the stage with Michelle and Oprah will be inspiring. I’ve never been anybody’s fan but I admire and idolize women like Oprah.”
“Once I get back to Mumbai, I will know exactly what I will be talking on and for how long, depending on that I will prepare my speech,” she added
More than 500 NGOs, over 400 universities and 100 high schools will be participating in the event with more than 25K attendees expected to visit on two days.
Kangana has been in Manali at her bungalow since her birthday on March 23. She has wrapped up the shoot of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Soon she will start her work on her next Mental Hai Kya with Rajkumar Rao. It will be directed by the National Award winning Telugu filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi.
Reports suggest that Kangana has been a Gandhi follower since her childhood.
