Bollywood singer Yash Wadali was booked under molestation case at Bangurnagar police station in suburban Goregaon, Mumbai on Thursday.
The singer was arrested on Thursday night from a lounge in Oshiwara.
Wadali will be produced at the Dindoshi sessions court today for the hearing.
It was reported that the incident took place when Yash Wadali and the woman along with few friends went for drinks at a flat in Goregaon West, Mumbai at around 5 am when singer grab the collar of the woman.
Santosh Bhandare, a senior inspector said in a statement, “Wadali, who is a professional singer, abused her on the pretext of singing. He pulled her collar and molested her. We have not arrested him yet”.
Adding further to this he said, “The complainant was at her friend’s residence, where a quarrel broke out between Yash Wadali and her over the issue of singing a song. Later, Vadali held her collar with an intent to outrage her modesty and also abused the woman”.
Following the complaint, the singer was booked under sections 354 (punishment for sexual harassment) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC.
