National Award-winning Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been slapped and assaulted by members of Raput Karni Sena at Jaigarh fort in Jaipur on the sets of Padmavati.

Protesters entered to the film’s sets and started getting violent, vandalised the cameras and other equipment.

Members of Raput Karni Sena alleged that the film is distorting historical facts as according to them the film incorrectly portrays Rani Padmini. They also demanded to delete love scenes between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the movie.

“We had warned the filmmaker against presenting wrong facts. When we came to know about the shooting, we gathered there and protested,” said district president of Karni Sena Narayan Singh.

Another activist of Karni Sena Vikram Singh said.”Our basic protest is about distortion of historic facts which will not be tolerated.”

Following the incident whole Bollywood town from Priyanka to Karan Johar comes in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
