Shivraj Singh Chouhan says, won’t allow Padmavati screening in MP

Indian film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has created a huge controversy in recent time. In the recent development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said the movie Padmavati will not be released in Madhya Pradesh for distorting facts.

It was reported that Rajput Community has submitted a memorandum before CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking a ban on Padmavati.

Following this, the CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said he won’t allow the release of Bhansali’s movie Padmavati in his state.

He said even if the movie gets passed by the Censor Board, it won’t allow the screening of the movie in the state.

The decision came out after having a meeting with the representatives of the Rajput community on Monday.

He said in a statement, “We will not tolerate any distortion of historical facts. The entire country is speaking in one voice that historical facts were distorted”.

The makers of Padmavati has put off the release date of the film following the increasing controversy of the movie.

It was learned that earlier the movie was scheduled to be released on December 1.

On the other hand, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh said in a statement, “Nobody will accept the distortion of history and those who are protesting are rightly doing so”.
