Zubeen Garg: Bollywood singer sentenced to 3 months jail

Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg has been allegedly awarded by six months jail term with a penalty of five thousand in connection with an assault case.

It was reported that the popular Bollywood and  Assamese  Zubeen Garg has allegedly slapped an Advocate Arup Borbora’s son for smoking in public in the year 2013.

Following the incident, the singer has been sent to the three months jail term.

Advocate Junmoni Devi said in a statement, “This case was filed under three IPC sections- 323, 341 and 506. He has been proved not guilty under section 341; he has been sentenced to three months jail and penalty of 5000 rupees under sections 323 and 506. We have accepted the judgment with respect and have planned to appeal before the Higher Court, which is Sessions Judge Court”.

Zubeen Garg’s advocate said, “We have accepted the judgment with respect and have planned to appeal before the Higher Court, which is Sessions Judge Court”.

The singer has contributed his voice in Assamese, Bengali, and Bollywood. The singer also sings songs in other dialects which include Tamil,  Telugu, Kannada,  Malayalam,  Marathi,  Odia,  Bodo, Karbi, Nepali, Bishnupriya Manipuri, Goalparia, and English.
