CSK defeats RCB by five wickets; Virat fined

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu ruled the show as CSK defeated RCB by five wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday.

MS Dhoni scored 70 runs off just 34 balls that included 7 sixes and a four. He hit the winning runs with a six to finish off the game in his trademark style.

Dhoni was also adjudged ‘Man of the Match’.

Ambati Rayudu continued his good form as he scored 82 runs off just 53 balls that included 8 sixes and three fours. He also won ‘Player of the Match’ and orange cap.

The duo made the run chase very easy as CSK chased down the target of 207 runs with two balls to spare.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers among RCB with figures of 4-0-26-2.

Earlier, CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, RCB scored 205 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs.

AB de Villiers scored 68 runs off just 30 deliveries that included 8 sixes and two fours while Quinton de Cock scored 53 runs off 37 balls with four sixes and one four. Mandeep Singh played a little cameo of 32 runs off 17 balls. Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, and Dwayne Bravo scalped two wickets each.

 

Dhoni becomes the first captain in T20 to score 5000 runs

CSK captain MS Dhoni has become the first player to score 5000-runs as captain in T20 cricket. He achieved the landmark when he scored his 60th run during the run chase.
