Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth has clinched his third Super Series Title after defeating the South Korea’s Lee Hyun on Sunday.
Kidambi Srikanth becomes the third Indian player to win the tournament.
It was reported that in the year 1979-80 Prakash Padukone had won the men’s singles title.
It was believed that in just 25 minutes Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth finished the Denmark Open Super Series final and defeated Korea’s Lee Hyun Il on Sunday.
While interacting with media, Kidambi Srikanth said, “I am happy with the way it went for me, it was fantastic. I beat some tough players this week. I can’t even say it’s a dream come true because I never dreamt of winning three titles this year! I really want to continue playing well”.
The Indian ace shutter beats Lee Hyun 21-10, 21-5 to win the men’s singles title in Odense on Sunday.
Adding further to this, he said, “He is one of the most experienced players in the circuit. He is one of the best players, he is a two-time Olympic semi-finalist. It is a tremendous feat. He has a different style and he is known to turn matches after losing the first game, so I am happy to could win in straight games. I just wanted to continue what I did this week and not do anything fancy. I feel I have to be more consistent in the coming months”.
Earlier this year, Srikanth has also won Indonesia Open Super Series Premier and Australian Open Super Series.
