Manu Bhaker won her second gold to take India to the top of the medals tally in the ongoing ISSF World Cup held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Bhaker struck her second goal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event. The 16-year-old had won her first gold in 10m Air Pistol event on Sunday. The debutant along with her partner Om Prakash Mitharval totaled 476.1 to win the third gold medal for India.
India is on top of the table with 7 medals in the ongoing World Cup.
She scored a total of 237.5 to win over the local favorite Alejandra Zavala Vazquez with a difference of 0.4 in the individual event. Celine Goberville from France finished third with a total score of 217.0
Manu’s teammate Yashaswini Singh Deswal scored her career-best 196.1 to finish fourth in her first final appearance. The duo of Mehuli Ghosh and Deepak Kumar won India’s sixth medal by winning bronze in 10m Air Rifle mixed team event.
They shot a total of 435.1 in the final behind Romanian pair Alin Moldoveanu and Laura-Georgeta Coman who shot 498.4 for silver. China’s Chen Keduo and Xu Hong won gold with a world record score of 502.0.
India’s pair of Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar finished fourth with a score of 392.6 after entering the finals.
Deepak Kumar finally had luck on his side after he lost to teammate Ravi in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event on day two.
However, it was the pair of Chandela and Ravi Kumar who topped the qualification rounds. They shot a combined total of 837.9 among 19 competing teams. India’s Mehuli and Deepak also qualified in the same event with a total of 834.3.
