The selectors have chosen the names of the Indian cricketer for the five-match ODI series which will be played against Australia. Indian all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja names have been missed out in the list decided by the selectors.
The first three ODIs of the five-match series will be starting from September 17.
MSK Prasad, Chairman of selectors said in a statement,”The team for the three ODIs against Australia has been selected in line with the rotation policy of the Board and accordingly R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested”.
It was reported that the national selection committee has decided the name of the players for the ODIs over a conference call on Sunday.
It was further added, “The team’s performance during the Sri Lanka tour was outstanding and players like Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal, who performed very well are being given an extended run and this will, in turn, supplement our approach, to build a strong reserve strength, as we prepare for forthcoming tours”.
It was discovered that once again the Indian international cricketer Yuvraj Singh was once again ignored by the selectors.
The Indian Squad include Virat Kohli(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav.
