The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata where Kolkata Knight Riders played against Delhi Daredevils.

Like a new tradition which has developed this IPL, Delhi Daredevils won the toss and opted to field first.

Batting first, KKR lost their opener Sunil Narine in the second over but others like Lynn (31), Uthappa (35), Nitish Rana(59) contributed well. Andre Russell bludgeoned 12-ball 41 runs as KKR posted 200 runs on the board with the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.

Rahul Tewati picked three wickets for just 18 runs in his three overs. Trent Boult and Chris Morris scalped two wickets each.

In reply, Delhi Daredevils had a dampening start. They lost their top 3 batsmen for just 24 runs in the first three overs. Risabh Pant 43(26) and Glenn Maxwell 47(22) brought back some hope in the dug-out but once they got out the entire team was wrapped up for just 129 runs off 14.2 overs.

Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav picked three wickets each. In doing so, Narine completed his 100 wickets in the IPL.

Nitish Rana was adjudged Man of the Match. He is so far proving to be one of the smartest buys at the auction this year. KKR bought him for 3.4 crores.

In today’s game, Mumbai Indians will play Royal Challengers Bangalore on their home turf. Slow starters MI is winless in first three games while RCB is yet to open their account while playing away from home.
