KKR loses to Mumbai Indians by 102 runs

Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Mumbai Indians by a huge margin of 102 runs at the Eden Gardens stadium on Wednesday.

KKR won the toss and opted o bowl. Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 210 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. All the batsman played their part but Ishan Kishan’s innings stood out as he scored 62 runs off just 21 balls that included 6 sixes and 5 fours. Ben Cutting played a cameo of 24 runs off just 9 balls he faced.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav scored 36 runs each.

Piyush Chawla picked 3 wickets but gave away 48 runs in his four overs while Kuldeep Yadav went wicketless with figures of 3-0-43-0.

In reply, KKR lost the edge after Chris Lynn got run out in the fourth over. MI quickly got rid of Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana and got the grip on the game after Dinesh Karthik got run out by JP Duminy. The entire team got bowled out for 108 runs in just 18.1 overs.

Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya scalped two wickets each.

Ishan Kishan was adjudged Man of the Match.

Both MI and KKR have 5 wins in 11 matches and needs to win the remaining three matches to qualify for semi-finals.


In Today’s match,

Delhi Daredevils will play table toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Delhi. SRH has nothing to lose as they’ve already qualified for the semi-finals while DD not just need to win the remaining matches but will also depend on other teams to qualify for the semi-final.
