The Australian opener, Aaron Finch and the middle-order batsman, Glenn Maxwell will miss the opening matches of IPL 2018. Aaron Finch will tie knots with Amy Griffiths on April 7. The IPL matches for this year will start from April 7. The opener clashed with the wedding date.
Finch bought by Kings XI Punjab for 6.2 crore rupees in the IPL auction that took place in January. The swashbuckling batsman, Glenn Maxwell will also be unavailable who is appointed the Master of Ceremonies in the wedding.
Maxwell who featured for Kings XI Punjab for last year will play with the Gautam Gambhir led side Delhi Daredevils this year. DD bought him for a hefty 9 crores last month. Daredevils will play his former club KXIP on April 9.
In a statement to the Australian media, Aaron Finch said,” I saw the fixture this morning – there’s no chance I’ll be missing my wedding. That’d be a bit tough leaving Amy at the altar, wouldn’t it? The second game we play is on the 13th, that’ll give me plenty of time to get over there and miss only one game luckily.”He went on to say that he was informed that the 11th IPL season will start on April 15.
A few days ago, Australia Captain, Steve Smith announced that he will be tying the knot with her fiancée Dani Willis in September.
In order to spend time with his family the former Australia limited-overs skipper, George Bailey too will not feature playing cricket this county season. In a statement, he said that he will not be returning to play two more county seasons.
